Penang has been listed as one of the seventh best places to visit in Southeast Asia by Lonely Planet

In its post on the 2nd of Jan 2025, Penang’s vibrant mosaic of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures was highlighted and was reflected in its food, architecture, and traditions, as a reason to visit the “Pearl of the Orient.”

It said Penang was one of the only places in the world where one could tour Chinese clan houses, mosques, Hindu temples, and British colonial buildings in one city.
